Information for parents and campers
We are so glad you will be joining us this summer! This page is full on information to help you prepare for your time at camp. If you have questions please call our office at 507-346-2494
Each camper must have a current Health Form (within 3 months), completed and signed health form on file at Good Earth Village before they can participate in any camp activities.
Mail and E-mail
We encourage parents to mail or email their child during the week. For regular camp mail send it to the camp but make sure include the name of the camper on the envelope. You can send emails to camper@goodearthvillage.org. We will print and deliver emails to campers daily.
Telephone
One of the valuable qualities of camp is the uninterrupted time away from home and normal routine. Camper use of the telephone for incoming or outgoing calls is strongly discouraged. If you have concerns, our staff will be glad to discuss your child's experience with you, and can relay message to your child. In the event of an emergency, Good Earth Village assures immediate access to a phone for a camper.
For the well-being of all campers and staff
All medications (including over the counter medicine) must be turned in at registration. All medicine must be in the original packaging and clearly marked with your child's name and the dosage instructions.
Good Earth Village is a drug and weapon free environment. In the event that a camper brings drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, knives, weapons or explosive devices to camp, parents will be contacted immediately to pick up the camper.
Good Earth Village also reserves the right to store camper's personal items that may be inappropriate to their stay. Items will be returned at the end of the week.
If a camper is destructive to camp property the parent will be contacted for appropriate remuneration and/or dismissal from camp.
Good Earth Village reserves the right to dismiss any camper. Registration fees may or may not be returned at the discretion of the camp director.
In the event of severe weather
Good Earth Village has secure storm shelters which are used in the event of bad weather. In addition to having our own National Weather Service Radio, we are also contacted by local officials and informed of changing weather conditions. If any storm damage results in a need to send campers home, you will be contacted.
